The era of the 48th and 49th Imams of the Shia Ismailis is shaping up to be one which promotes the acquisition of knowledge and intellect in all its nuances. Whereas the dynasty of the Fatimid Imams did the same thing within the 10th to 12th century Egyptian state, the current dynasty of Imams is doing so within a borderless global community. The present Imam in a recent speech(Oct 9th 2006) called Islam a religion of reason, of logic, one that places the greatest emphasis on knowledge and whose purpose it is to understand God's creation. To commemorate these recent statements, I have altered my signature after every one of my posts to add a condensed one-liner from the present Imam to the one I have always used from the 48th Imam.
