1)Philosophical Ismailism

This is the link between science and religion I refer to when I discuss the value of the cosmological doctrine of 10th century Ismaili cosmologist Abu Yakub Al-Sijistani: there are 2 arms that characterise this cosmology,1) The emanational arm, where the material universe is one endpoint and is considered to be one of Al-Sijistani's 4 wellsprings of knowledge and, 2)The historical arm, which has 2 0f the 4 wellsprings of knowledge, natiq and asas, ie, prophet and imam, and represents the entry point for ordinary man to reach an understanding of divine knowledge. A study of the endpoint of the emanational arm, ie, a study of the objects and events in the material universe, can be like fuel which can be used, among other things, to power ones quest to take advantage of the benefits offered by the historical arm and can facilitate the transition from the rational intellect of man to the timeless intellect offered by religion.
